How can we help?
Getting started
How do I sign in to Draftedly?+
You can sign in with Google or with a magic link sent to your email - no password needed. Magic links expire after 10 minutes.
How do I create my first proposal?+
From your dashboard, click "New proposal". You'll get a block editor where you can add text, pricing tables, timelines, images, and more. Arrange blocks by dragging them into order.
I didn't receive my login email. What should I do?+
Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, wait a minute and try requesting a new link. Make sure you're using the same email address you signed up with.
Proposals
How do I send a proposal to a client?+
Once your proposal is ready, click "Send". Your client receives an email with a link to view the proposal in their browser - they don't need a Draftedly account.
Can my client sign the proposal?+
Yes. Clients can accept and e-sign directly from the proposal link. You'll receive an email notification the moment they sign.
How do I know if my client has viewed the proposal?+
Your dashboard shows when a proposal was first opened and how many times it was viewed. On the Pro plan, you also get per-session analytics: time on page, section views, and device data.
Can I restrict who can view a proposal?+
Yes. You can add a list of allowed email addresses to a proposal. Only those recipients can open the link - anyone else will be asked to request access.
How do I export a proposal to PDF?+
PDF export is available on the Pro plan. Open the proposal from your dashboard and click "Export PDF". The file is generated and downloaded immediately.
Can I resend a proposal?+
Yes. Open the proposal from your dashboard and use the "Resend" option. Your client will receive a fresh notification email with the same proposal link.
Can I set up automatic follow-up reminders?+
Yes. You can configure automatic follow-up emails that send if a client hasn't responded within a set number of days. You can also customise the message copy and send reminders manually at any time.
Payments
How do payments work?+
You can collect payments through Stripe (clients pay online via card) or mark payments as manually settled if you're handling payment outside Draftedly - bank transfer, cash, invoice, whatever works for you.
Do I need a Stripe account?+
No. Stripe is optional. If you prefer to handle payments yourself, you can switch to manual settlement in Settings and use Draftedly purely for proposals and e-signatures.
What's the difference between a deposit and milestones?+
Deposit is a single upfront payment your client pays when they accept. Milestones let you split the project into multiple payments - each one is triggered and collected separately as work progresses.
When do I receive my money?+
Payouts are handled by Stripe and typically arrive in your bank account within 2-7 business days, depending on your Stripe account settings and country.
Does Draftedly take a cut of my payments?+
No. Draftedly doesn't take a percentage of your payments. Stripe's standard processing fees apply (typically 2.9% + 30c per transaction, varies by country).
Templates
What are templates?+
Templates are pre-built proposal structures you can use as a starting point. Draftedly includes a set of starter templates, and you can save any of your own proposals as a template to reuse later.
How do I save a proposal as a template?+
Open the proposal editor, click the options menu, and choose "Save as template". Give it a name and category, and it will appear in your Templates library for future use.
Can I edit a template after saving it?+
You can update a template's name, description, category, and style from the Templates page. To change the content, create a new proposal from the template, make your edits, and save it as a template again.
Are templates available on the free plan?+
Yes. Saving and using your own templates is available on all plans.
Clients
What is the Clients section?+
Clients is a directory of everyone you've sent proposals to. It shows each client's proposal history, total revenue, acceptance rate, and last activity - all in one place.
How do I add a client?+
You can add clients manually from the Clients page, or directly from an open proposal using the "Add client" button. Keeping clients manual means your list stays intentional - only the people you actually want to track.
Can I add notes to a client?+
Yes. Open a client's profile and you'll find a notes field where you can record anything relevant - contact preferences, project history, or anything else.
Can I export my client list?+
Yes. From the Clients page, use the export button to download a CSV of your client list including proposal counts and revenue totals.
Can I delete a client?+
Yes. You can select one or more clients and delete them from the Clients page. This removes the client record but does not delete associated proposals.
Library
What is the Library?+
The Library has two sections: Content Blocks and Media. Content Blocks are reusable proposal sections you've saved - testimonials, pricing tables, team bios, and more. Media is a central place to store images you use across proposals.
How do I save a block to my library?+
In the proposal editor, hover over any block and use the block options menu to save it to your library. It will then be available to insert into any future proposal.
How do I use a saved block in a proposal?+
When adding a new block in the proposal editor, switch to the "My Library" tab. Your saved blocks will appear there and can be inserted with one click.
How much storage do I have for media?+
Free plan accounts include 1 GB of media storage. Pro accounts get 10 GB.
What file types can I upload?+
You can upload images including JPG, PNG, GIF, and WebP. Images are optimised automatically on upload.
Analytics
What does the Analytics page show?+
The Analytics page shows your overall business performance: total revenue, proposals sent and accepted, win rate over time, revenue by period, top clients, and win rate broken down by proposal style.
What is win rate?+
Win rate is the percentage of sent proposals that were accepted. It's a useful indicator of how well your proposals are converting.
Can I see analytics for a specific proposal?+
Yes, on the Pro plan. Open any proposal and click the analytics icon to see a per-session breakdown: when each recipient opened it, how long they spent reading, which sections they viewed, and what device they used.
Can I export my analytics data?+
Yes, on the Pro plan. From the Analytics page, click "Export CSV" to download a full breakdown of your proposal and revenue data.
How far back does the analytics data go?+
Analytics cover your full account history. You can filter by time period - day, week, or month - to zoom in on any range.
Plans & billing
What's included in the free plan?+
Almost everything: the full block editor, all 8 proposal styles, milestone and deposit payments, access protection, logo upload, custom follow-up emails, Stripe Connect payouts, manual settlement, templates, and e-signatures - for up to 10 sent proposals (lifetime total). Drafts are unlimited.
What does Pro add?+
Three things: unlimited sent proposals, PDF export, and per-proposal session analytics (time on page, section views, device data). The rest of the app is identical.
How much does Pro cost?+
Pro is $9/month billed annually ($108/year), or $14/month billed monthly. You can switch plans at any time from Settings.
How do I upgrade to Pro?+
Go to Settings > Billing and choose a plan. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page.
Can I cancel my Pro subscription?+
Yes, cancel anytime from Settings > Billing. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period with no further charges.
Does the free proposal limit reset monthly?+
No - the 10 proposal limit on the free plan is a lifetime total, not a monthly reset. Drafts are unlimited and do not count toward the limit.
